The work consists of a series of interviews with Cuban students from the elementary level. The children answer a simple question “How to make trees grow in the sand”
I intend that the question serve as an analogue with the political social situation in which these children grow up. I did this work at a time when the Cuban education (one of the great pillars of the national policy) system began to fragment and I feel the need to discuss the issue
The answers of these children may seem bizarre but to me they perfectly reflect the contradictions of the Cuban social system, utopian and hopeless at the same time
I wanted the work to be as simple as possible and for the weight of attention to be focused only on listening, therefore the work is just an audio that is constantly on loop.
